Hi! Thanks for checking in!

In the summer of 2016, I started illustrating a children's book about a Shetland Pony named Raindrop. Never heard of this project? Check out my previous post!

The Raindrop book is still in the works! In June of 2017, I finished all 48 pages and read it out loud to a small audience for review. I received a lot of helpful feedback from that meeting! We got into the nitty-gritty, this eye should be bigger, this leg is at the wrong angle, etc. and we looked at the overall flow of the book. When looking at the transitions from one page to the next, I found that a few alterations would improve the overall flow. I also found some pages where the perspective could be zoomed in, that way the viewer feels less removed from the action, and there is more variety in composition.

Six months after our book review, I finished painting eight new pages and made smaller alterations to twenty pages. Once I've used a scanner to digitalize the paintings, I will make a few small adjustments in photoshop. I'm so excited to move to the next stage of the book. Although now that the illustration is complete, I'm wondering how to utilize my time... On to the next project!

Stay tuned for more updates on the Raindrop book, and whatever my next project is!
