I first connected with the Mesa Rim team when they ordered a batch of my climbing-themed stickers for their retail shop. After that initial wholesale order, we started talking about additionals ways to collaborate, and this custom apparel design was the result.
This design was created for Mesa Rim Climbing Centers and inspired by the rugged, sun-soaked beauty of climbing at Joshua Tree. I wanted to channel the bold colors and distinctive forms of the desert landscape into a graphic that feels dynamic and striking.
The illustration was designed as a full-back graphic with a coordinating logo on the front, and it's available on apparel and merchandise at select Mesa Rim gyms, including North City, Mira Mesa, and Mission Valley.
Rendered in vector format, the artwork stays crisp and clean at any size, perfect for everything from T-shirts to water bottles. It was such a fun challenge to capture the iconic look and feel of JT in a way that climbers could wear and connect with.
