Children's Book Illustration

Before I was a professional illustrator, I was a kid who loved getting lost in books. I grew up on a farm in Vermont, surrounded by animals and plenty of space to explore nature. That early connection to the natural world still shapes how I approach storytelling, whether I’m painting a mural or illustrating a picture book.

As an illustrator, I’m drawn to projects celebrating wonder and connection to the outdoors. I love collaborating to bring stories to life, and I think a lot about how viewers will experience the artwork, how it might make them feel seen, curious, or just happy to linger on a page. My goal is to make art that invites people in and reflects the beauty and whimsy of the world around us.

A passion project in progress

Beaver Story

This work-in-progress offers a look into my illustration process. I wrote a short story about a topic I've been interested in: how beavers help protect their ecosystems from wildfires. From there, I developed a picture-book–style storyboard and have fully rendered a few of the pages. This type of ecological-based illustration is the work I love most!

What began as a passion project to showcase the kind of children’s book I’d love to illustrate is growing into something bigger. I’m expanding the story to fit a full 32-page picture book format, and I look forward to sharing more as it develops.

The ABCs: Cognitive Neuroscience Edition

The concept behind this project combined scenes of nature with a dive into cognitive science. Each letter of the alphabet was paired with a word related to cognition, creating a blend of education and wonder for young readers.
